My Make-Up Bag Essentials

I am an avid lover of make-up and for me to leave the house without wearing any is like not wearing any clothes! I started wearing make-up at around 14yrs old due to getting chicken pox during my teenage years. I was extremely self-conscious of the scars the infection left so my mum bought me my first bottle of foundation and showed me the basics on how to apply it. After many years, my collection and skills have bloomed. Though I’m still left with a few scars, cosmetics give me the confidence to feel good about myself.

So without further ado, here are my most essential and favourite make-up items. First of all there is the Dior Skin Nude foundation in Ivory. This is my favourite foundation because it compliments my skin tone really well and leaves my complexion looking smooth and radiant. It is really light and I find is best used with a beauty blender or my hands rather than a brush. It is a pricey product however it is worth it as you will really notice the quality of this foundation which lasts all day long.

Next is the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2. This palette is incredible. I use it pretty much every day to achieve a natural look and sometimes for a more dramatic smoky eye look for nights out. My favourite colours to use from the palette are YDK (a cool bronze shimmer) and Chopper (copper shimmer with silver micro-glitter). Furthermore, I also really like the brush that comes with the palette. One end it has a fluffy applicator type brush and the other is smaller and thinner which helps for precision when applying the eye shadow to the crease of your eye.

Third is the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige. Every girl should have this in her make-up bag and another one in her hand bag! It is perfect for taking the shine from your face after a brisk walk or a day in the sun. I also use it to blend contours if they haven’t gone quite the way I want them to.

Fourth is the Benefit They’re Real Mascara which boasts a jet black formula that lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts and separates lashes. This mascara did not disappoint me. I find that the glossy formula is long-wearing, does not smudge or dry out and is not too heavy on my lashes either. Also the brush makes it really easy to apply.

And lastly is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 107. I get compliments all the time when I wear this lipstick. It is a deep red, matte lipstick that lasts for hours. It also has a really nice velvety texture which makes my lips feel moisturised.

What are your make-up bag essentials?
