Travel Essentials

Every time I travel I make a list of everything I need to pack/last minute things I still need to use but must remember to pack. If I forgot any of my essentials it would throw me off as these are the things that help to keep me relaxed and happy whilst I am away.

  1. Passport – You cannot leave the country without it so make sure it’s in a nice and easy place to find. The last thing you need is to be stressing about where you put your passport. I always tuck my boarding passes into it and put it in a compartment on its own in my travel bag so I know exactly where it is and that it won’t fall out if my bag is left undone.
  2. A notepad and pen – where else are you going to jot down all of your blogging inspo from your trip? Not only that, a notepad and pen can come in handy in lots of situations such as drawing maps when you’re lost and for doodling when you’re bored and waiting on travel.
  3. A good book to sink into – I always chose a good book to get into whilst I’m away as it really helps me to relax. I never seem to have the time to read when I’ve got a busy working week so it’s nice to get away and read whilst I have the time to just sit and relax.
  4. Sunglasses – This essential is of course only if you’re going somewhere that the sun will be shining! There’s nothing worse than having to squint all day long if you’ve forgotten your sunglasses.
  5. Headphones and a new playlist – Before I go away on holiday I always create myself a new playlist with new songs that are in the charts or download a new album that I’ve been lusting after for a while. Having music to listen to whilst you’re travelling is great for blocking out horrible sounds like screaming babies and loud eaters on your plane.
  6. This Works – deep sleep pillow spray – I really struggle to sleep in new and strange places so having my sleep spray really helps me sleep and makes me feel like I’m at home and comforted.
  7. Lush bath bomb – I actually take a few depending on the length of my trip. I always look for hotels that have a nice large bath to relax in with a lush bath bomb. It’s a comfort I like to take with me to help relax and not feel anxious about being somewhere new.

What can you not live without whilst you are travelling? I'd love to know in the comments below.

    1. I've just been to Venice so you'll be seeing more of my travel posts appearing over the next couple of weeks or so! I'm just looking forward to booking the next holiday already!

Sunglasses are a must. They're also perfect for travelling when you're make-up free and aren't looking your best. Covers the dark circles from the night before ;)

  3. I used to take about ten books for a week long holiday - thank goodness for my Kindle, I just make sure that's loaded up now!

    1. I am the same! Not quite ten but at least a few for a week in the sun. I haven't got a kindle though - I don't want to see books die out so I refuse to buy one. Plus I stare at screens all day for a job, it'd just give me more brain ache!
